is OLA another selling site? i never heard of it.

Yeah it is, The url is in the forum description, it's OnlineAuction.com, artists have had some limited success selling there, but they just don't seem quite ready to make the needed changes to actually compete with eBay.

thanks faerydae!! there are so many selling sites out there it's really hard to keep up a while ago i joined artfire.com they were beta testing, it seems very similar to etsy, but like you said many of these new sites may be hard to compete with ebay which seems to attract the most attention for art collectors.

Yeah and it's hard with all the different fees and shipping rules to keep track off too!

I think I stayed away from ArtFire cuz they had fees, but are they an auction based venue? Or just a straight sale?

Bonanzle.com is another one that ACEO artists have been talking about and have been selling on with some success.

buy from these sites.

This is crazy how many sites there are! We need ONE single great place like Ebay USED to be for artists! For me, especially as a newbie, the fees will drive me away posthaste when I have no sales.
I'd hoped the newer venues would solve that problem that most of us have with our listings but nope, they all seem to fall into the same trap that ebay does, without any of the security or bulk visitors that ebay offers... ugh... as always, it drives us back to ebay who does not have any sympathy for how unique our art is & refuses to act accordingly!

i know what you mean about the fees desiree, i wish ebay would have a format like etsy where at least if you don't sell an item you don't get charged and there is no monthly fee if you have a store unlike ebay no matter what you have to pay them a montly fee (15.00 +plus ), your listings and sales fees ....they add up,plus the categories listings are not the same i think a lot of other artists who don't do aceos where upset and complained to ebay and ebay removed the aceo category i noticed after that change sales were not the same for many artists.

Whoa!! Hadn't heard that about the aceo catagory!! Did they bring it back? Is that why the new interest in OSWOA cards that are a bit bigger that faerydae is doing now? I'd never heard of them till recently.... And who complained & for what reason? Wierd!! People are always so eager to trash someone else's chances in an effort to promote thier own.... not a nice way to play on the playground!!
Yeah, Ebay has a sorta no tolerance viewpoint I think. They act and then everyone gets dumped on. There doesn't seem to be any fairness to it at all.... Remember the nipple nazi thing? And then eventually... how many years did it take them before they finally relented & gave the fantasy art area a few concessions? dunno...
As for the fees & such... I think the stores were a good deal until a year or two ago when they raised all the pricing and it became the same crunch as just listing separate items... sad... You'd think they'd realize how much of a market the stores are AND the fantasy art area is and try to help us build it rather than make us leave to find other venues....
And those!! Honestly, I thought people with all that technical knowledge would have jumped on the chance to make a place where there are unique selling & buying opportunites as well as certain comforts & reliability for the sellers!! But nope, the ones I've seen who set out to be the 'be all do all' for fantasy art has fallen victim to the same greedy issues we have with ebay!!
